Dear Ron,
On behalf of the American Speed Association, I would like to thank you for the introduction of FireAde 2000 into our racing series. After viewing the demonstration presented by Mr. Dave Grooters, comparisons with other firefighting additives, and actual use of your product, we have come to the conclusion that FireAde 2000 is the right product for our needs.
On its first actual use, it proved itself a powerful firefighting tool. In Lakeland Florida, on March 22, 2003, one of our cars experienced a brake failure that resulted in a rupture of the oil tank. The addition of the oil to the extremely hot brake parts resulted in a spectacular fire that engulfed the entire rear of the car. While personnel assisted in the removal of the driver, I was able to put the fire out in a matter of only a few seconds. What was most notable was the quick change of the thick, black smoke to a white color and the rapid reduction in temperature. Your product proved itself in its very first trial.
ASA will have all of our water extinguishers charged with FireAde and each pit official will carry one 16-ounce personal fire extinguisher on his belt. We feel that your product will greatly increase the extinguishment time of most fires that we will encounter in our series. FireAde will also be used for its superior cooling ability on hot racecar parts and its excellent cleaning properties. It truly is a multi-purpose product.
ASA prides itself in being on the forefront of racing safety and the addition of FireAde 2000 is a continuation of this tradition. We hope that it will never be needed again, but if the situation presents itself, we feel absolutely confident that FireAde 2000 will do the job.
